Moral corruption among Vietnamese government employees and executives on the rise
Ho Chi Minh City (AsiaNews) - Consumerism is leading a large number of officials and government employees in Vietnam to moral corruption. Thus, among cadres of the Communist Party it is considered "normal" to have extramarital relations. This was revealed by a recent survey conducted by Madame Trinh, who interviewed about 100 party members working in district Phu Nhuan, highlighting how having committed rapes, frequenting prostitutes and extramarital affairs are all commonplace among the "class".
The Phu Nhuan district Statistical Office revealed to AsiaNews, "in recent years, compared with 18,420 couples who are married, there were 3,518 couples who have divorced, the 19.08% of whom were couples young people. The main reason for separation is the fact of having extramarital relations. "The real situation - says Nguyen Thi L, a consultant in the district of Phu Nhuan - is that is becoming increasingly common in government offices in Ho Chi Minh City to have extramarital relations with other state employees or management."
"At the moment - Mr H. tells AsiaNews – there are about three million members of the Communist Party, but good party members are very few. They are usually poor and do not have important tasks. The good people have worked with and for the people and the nation”.
For this very reason, religions should participate in education, spirituality and social activities to reduce the "lack of morality and social ills in social structures”.
