Israeli diplomat expelled over fake passports in Dubai attack

Israel will not comment on the responsibilities. For the killing of Mahmoud al Mabhouh, leader of Hamas, Mossad also used Irish, British and German passports.

Canberra (AsiaNews / Agencies) - The Australian Government has expelled an Israeli diplomat, having established that Israeli staff produced and then used false passports in terrorist action in Dubai, where a Hamas leader was killed.

Australian Foreign Minister Stephen Smith has condemned the fraud, calling it "not the act of a friend."

Last February, during the assassination of Mahmoud al Mabhouh, in Dubai, it was discovered that several of the killers had Australian passports, forged in Israel. They had "cloned" the passports of four Australians who live in Israel: Nicole McCabe, Joshua Bruce, Adam Korman and Joshua Krycer. Australian police believe that the Israeli secret service produced the false documents, given their high quality.

Smith also said that Israel has not ruled on these responsibilities. Police in Dubai, where the murder occurred, are 100% certain that the business of passports and the killing of Hamas leader is the work of Mossad. According to Dubai the murderers used the passports of Australian, Irish, British and German people living in Israel. In March, even Britain expelled an Israeli diplomat for his role in forging passports.
