A school for the children of Bao Loc

Bao Loc (AsiaNews) – A group of young volunteers from the dioces of Da Lat, have organized language and math courses in the village of Bao Loc, about 100 kilometers from Dalat City, in the south of the country and are additionally seeking to build a library there.
One of them , Nguyen, tells AsiaNews: “We met with the villane people and we studied their needs. They are very poor and can’t afford to send their children to school. So we organised a small class session inviting the people and the local authorities to come and take part. The village people need education; the presence of the local government representatives is also important”.
Casim, a young volunteer of the H’Mong ethnic minority, presented a project for community development which was realised following a period of study at the diocese of Ho Chi Minh City. “We have gathered 8 young people of the commune to help for 80 children go to compassionate classes last week. Dividing 20 children in a group for learning our language, Vietnamese language and mathematic. Beside organizing social activities for young people groups, parents and local authority. Step by step raising awareness for people about their duties to their children”.
Bien, a student who helped Casim to organise the study session says: “Through cultural activities people have understood with one another, and their duties for new generation of the commune. If we give them money they will be out of money, therefore we discussed with young people to establish a bookcase, borrowing class rooms for teaching and studying of the children. After that the children can read and writing and look for a job, or work at agricultural fields of the community for earning their living”.
Than, who heads the Catholic group tells Asianews: "At the beginning we face with many difficulties in working at here. But people’ participation and local authority’s support have and solved troubles and improved their living by themselves. With 500 families and 90% are Catholics, we are living and working with people at here. Though the government still has doubts and discrimination with us, but we are working with whole our heart and belief. God Bless us in the mission always”.
