A Saudi Prince is the first in the world to have a “Flying Palace”
Dubai (AsiaNews/Agencies) – Saudi prince Alwaleed bin Talal will be the first person in the world to have the la test status symbol, the A380. The “superjumbo” bought by the prince, 13th on the list of the world’s richest people, has been named the “Flying Palace”, and though the price remains a secret airplane reaches a commercial cost of over 320 million dollars.
The buyer’s identity had been one of the biggest mysteries in aviation for months. It was first thought that the buyer was the Russian billionaire, Roman Abramovich, but it has since been denied.
The interior design of the “Flying Palace” remains top secret. It is due to be completed by 2010. Leg room will not be a problem on the Flying Palace, which has 551 square meters; the commercial version is capable of transporting up to 800 passengers, depending on its class and “optional features”. The A380 is in fact capable of fitting bars, restaurants, casinos and even bedrooms for first class passengers.
