Pope : "God is close to us, walks with us, is humble: He is always waiting for us "
Vatican City (
AsiaNews) - " God is always ready . God is beside us, God walks with us,
He is humble and is always waiting for us . Jesus is always waiting for us.
This is the humility of God." In
the history of the People of God, there are "good moments that give
joy" and also bad times " of pain, of martyrdom , of sin",
"in good times and bad one thing is always the same: the Lord is there, He never abandons
His people " This was the reflection offered by Pope Francis from Psalm
"We will go rejoicing to the house of the Lord " during his homily at
Mass celebrated this morning at Casa Santa Marta .
As
reported by Vatican Radio, the Pope highlighted how "the Lord , the day of
sin, the first sin, made a decision, He made a choice : to make History with
His people. And God, who has no history, because He is
eternal, wanted to make history, walking
close to His people. But more: become one of us and as one of us , walks with
us, speaks to us in Jesus , tells us of the humility of God". Here then is
the greatness of God is his own humility : " He wanted to walk with his
people ." And
when his people "walked away from Him through sin, through idolatry
," " He was there " waiting. And
Jesus also comes with "this attitude of humility." He
wants to "walk with the people of God, to walk with sinners, even walk
with the proud ." The
Lord has done so much "to help these proud hearts of the Pharisees "
"Humility.
God is always waiting. God is beside us, God walks with us, is humble always
awaits us. Jesus is always waiting for us. This is the humility of God, the Church
proclaims this humility of God who accompanies
us, as we did with Psalm . 'Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord ' :
Let's go with joy because He accompanies us, He is with us . And the Lord
Jesus, even in our personal lives is with us : in the Sacraments . The
Sacrament is not a magic ritual : it is an encounter with Jesus Christ , we
meet the Lord . It is He who is next to us and accompanies us . "
Jesus is
"our traveling companion ." "The
Holy Spirit accompanies us and teaches us all that we do not know, in our heart"
and " reminds us of all that Jesus taught us". And so
"makes us feel the beauty of the journey". "God
, Father, Son and Holy Spirit are companions on the journey , making history
with us." And
so the Church celebrates it " with great joy , even in the Eucharist
" with the "fourth Eucharistic Prayer" where " you sing the
love of God so great that he wanted to be humble , who wanted to be a companion
on the journey for us all, who also wanted to
make history with us. " "And
if He entered our history , we enter a little into the history of God or at
least let us ask for the grace to write history with Him : that He will write
our history . That is certain!" .
