Catholic Church spokesman calls on Sisi to ensure safety, economy and democracy
According to Fr Rafiq Greiche, the day after the inauguration, the new Egyptian president has to address three key challenges if he wants to put Egypt back on its feet. Indian jesuit kidnapped in Afghanistan
Father Alexis Prem Kumar sj, chief of Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) was abducted today (Monday) afternoon by unidentified gunmen when he was on the way to a school. Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson confirmed the incident.

Indian Bishops: The Catholic Church will support the new State of Telangana.
Telangana, in Andhra Pradesh, declared the 29th state of India. The Council of Bishops of Andhra Pradesh calls for "fair, inclusive, equitable and sustainable development". Concerns remain over secession, which might impoverish both states.

Kuwait open to Iran natural gas imports
Talks began during a visit by Kuwait's Emir Sabah Al-Ahmed Al Sabah to Tehran. "Iran has large quantities of gas and Kuwait is in need of Iranian gas through cooperation between the two countries," Kuwait's oil minister said.
