Vatican conference on ‘Exploring the Mind, Body & Soul’
Organised by the Pontifical Council for Culture and the Cura and STOQ foundations, the meeting will look at medical innovation and the possibility of creating new approaches and interdisciplinary partnerships to cure diseases and improve health, well-being and understanding of human uniqueness. A message from Pope Francis is expected to conclude the event.
Vatican City (AsiaNews) – The Fifth International Vatican Conference ‘Exploring the Mind, Body & Soul’ will be held in a virtual format on 6-8 May 2021. It will focus on “How Innovation and Novel Delivery Systems Improve Human Health”.
Organised by the Pontifical Council for Culture, the Cura Foundation and the Science and Faith (STOQ[*]) Foundation, the conference will give participants an opportunity to look at medical advances and the possibility of creating new approaches and interdisciplinary partnerships to cure diseases and improve health, well-being and understanding of human uniqueness
Participants will include physicians, scientists, ethicists, faith leaders, patient rights advocates, policymakers, philanthropists and influencers who will discuss the latest breakthroughs in medicine, health care delivery and prevention, as well as the anthropological outcomes and the cultural impact of technological advances.
The meeting will bring together speakers from all disciplines during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic to share their insights into health, humanity and the future of medicine.
Organisers will also look at ‘Bridging Science and Faith’ in order to explore what religion and spirituality share in relation to health and well-being, vetting the relationship between mind, body and soul.
Participants will discuss the meaning of being human and areas of convergence between the humanities and the natural sciences.
The Conference will end with a video message from Pope Francis.
Priests, health pastoral workers and students of pontifical and Catholic universities from around the world are also invited to participate.
