Two Korean leaders hold surprise second meeting in Panmunjom

The summit had not been announced. Push for the summit with Trump and for the implementation of the agreements of the first summit.

Panmujom (Asianews / Agencies) - Kim Jong-un and Moon Jae-in met for the second time today. The "surprise" summit was held again in the village of Panmunjom, this time on the north side of the village of the demilitarized zone, on the border between the two Koreas.

The two Korean leaders held face to face talks between 3 and 5 pm local time, and discussed the fate of the summit between Kim and US President Donald Trump, as well as the application of the Panmunjom Declaration. The details of what was discussed today will be announced tomorrow, during a press conference to be held at 10 am in Seoul.

Two days ago, Trump canceled the summit scheduled for June 12 in Singapore, accusing North Korea of "open hostility". However, Pyongyang's conciliatory response reopened the possibility that the summit will take place as originally planned. Trump said: "We are talking to them now. They really want to do it [the summit]. We would like to do it. We'll see what happens ".
