Pope: Parish Cells, instruments of mission and proclamation
Vatican City (AsiaNews) - Parish Cells of Evangelization "are like a seed by which the parish community questions itself about its call to mission, and this is why you have the irresistible call to meet all to proclaim the beauty of the Gospel" . The Church "welcomes good and bad, there is room for everyone”, said Pope Francis today meeting with the group, born in Italy, but which has spread to different parts of the world.
This missionary desire, emphasized Francis, "requires first of all listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit who continues to speak to the Church and leads her to follow paths that are sometimes still poorly understood, but crucial to evangelization. Always remain open to listening and taking care that this is never overcome by fatigue or the difficulties of the moment, it is a condition to be faithful to the Word of the Lord, and at the same time it is a push to overcome the various obstacles encountered on the path of evangelization ".
Here "with your daily work, and in communion with the other ecclesial realities, you help the parish community to become a family where we find a rich and multifaceted reality. Meeting in homes, allows people to share the joys and expectations that are present in each person's heart, it is a genuine experience of evangelization that is very similar to what happened in the early days of the Church".
Cells, Francis adds, "want to form that style of community life, able to accommodate everyone without judging anyone (cf. Evangelii Gaudium, 165), to provide the experience of God's presence and love of others. A key part of evangelization is acceptance, because it is one of the first signs of communion that we are called to witness from having encountered Christ in our lives".
The Pope then encouraged those present to make the Eucharist "the heart of your mission of evangelization, so that each cell is a Eucharistic community where breaking of the bread means recognizing the real presence of Jesus Christ in our midst. Here you will always find the strength to bring the beauty of faith because in the Eucharist we experience the love that knows no bounds, and we give a concrete sign that the Church is "the father's house where there is room for every man and his tiring life "(Evangelii Gaudium, 47)."
According to Vatican Radio, at the end of the audience, speaking off the cuff the Pope added: "This testimony, but the Church is the family home. There is room for everyone: for all. And Jesus says, even the Gospel: 'call the good and bad: everyone'. There is no difference".
