Pope to pray Rosary with Marian shrines around the world on May 30
The theme of the rite, which will be broadcast worldwide from the Lourdes Grotto in the Vatican gardens, at 5.30 pm, will be "Devoted and with one accord to prayer, together with Mary (cf. Acts 1:14)". The Virgin will be asked for help and assistance in the pandemic.
Vatican City (AsiaNews) - Pope Francis will recite the Rosary, next Saturday, May 30, in the Lourdes Grotto, in the Vatican gardens, in connection with some of the main Marian shrines in the world.
The theme of the rite, which will be broadcast worldwide at 17.30, will be "Devoted and with one accord to prayer, together with Mary (cf. Acts 1:14)". The Virgin will be asked for help and assistance in the pandemic.
The initiative promoted by the Pontifical council for the promotion of the new evangelization will see the involvement of families and men and women representatives of the sectors most involved in the pandemic, to whom the dozens of the Rosary will be entrusted. They will be recited by doctors and nurses, recovered patients and bereaved, a hospital chaplain and a woman religious nurse, a pharmacist and a journalist, and finally a Civil Protection volunteer with his family and also a family to whom a child was born in one of the most difficult moments, to express the hope that must never fail.
In connection there will be shrines of the five continents including Lourdes, Fatima, Lujan, Milagro, Guadalupe, San Giovanni Rotondo and Pompeii.
