Dhaka (AsiaNews) - A photographic exhibition that "brings people closer to Christ" has just concluded ended in Dhaka, in the women's school Bottmoly Homes. The exhibition was commissioned by Magisbangla, the young Jesuits movement in Bangladesh.
The title of the exhibition, organized in the outdoor areas of the school, was "Christian Life and Living". It was visited by Prodip Gomes, a university student, who told AsiaNews: "I saw [represented] different ecclesiastical events, the face and the blood of Christ, the Rosary. All these [images] have helped me to experience Jesus Christ in a deeper way ".
Hundreds of young people, including non-Catholics, visited the exhibition which lasted three days. Prodip adds: "The photos of Christ have touched my heart. I will remember them for a long time ". Sr. Chandana Rozario, of the Missionaries of the Immaculate [female congregation associated with PIME, ed.] states: "This type of exhibit has great power. It is the third year that has been repeated, and I return every time ".
The Christian Photography Festival 2019 was organized by the Jesuit priest Fr. Prodeep Pereze. He declares: "[People] have a profound need to know the Bible, to pause in adoration and to attend Mass." The priest reports that this year's exhibition wanted to "evoke the essence of the spirit. 46 photographers answered, who sent 150 shots. Of these, 64 were selected for the exhibit ". The response was so enthusiastic, he says in conclusion, that it "gives us hope for the future of Christian photography".
