Seoul and Pyongyang establish a 'direct line' between the two leaders

A phone call between Moon and Kim Jong-un will anticipate the 27 April summit. Preparation for the "historic" meeting continues. Some key events will be broadcast live on television. Moon is confident: North Korea is willing to denuclearize "completely" and will not ask for the withdrawal of US troops from the South.

Seoul (AsiaNews / Agencies) - The two Koreas will today open a direct telephone line between the leaders of the two countries, in view of the summit scheduled for April 27th. The Cheong Wa Dae presidential office in Seoul reported it. Presidential spokesman, Kim Eui-keyom, added that today officials will implement a first test call.

 North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and South Korean president Moon Jae-in will have telephone contact before the summit, although the date has yet to be determined.

Meanwhile, preparations continue for the "historic" inter-Korean meeting, with the forecast in the coming days of different tests and checks. The employees are finishing up the last details in the village that will host the meeting, from electric instruments to artistic works and red carpets.

Two days ago, 12 officials from the two Koreas defined the conditions for security, protocol and media coverage. When the two leaders shake hands and other key moments of the summit will be broadcast live. South Korea has also launched a new site where all information about the event will be reported

Moon, who will be accompanied to the meeting by six senior officials, said he was optimistic yesterday for the success of the dialogues: North Korea is willing to denuclearize "completely" and will not pose any conditions that the US can not accept, as the withdrawal of American troops from the South.
