Peres and Abbas accept Francis' invitation

The prayer meeting is set to take place next month at the Vatican.

Jerusalem (AsiaNews) - Israeli President Shimon Peres and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas have accepted Pope Francis' invitation to join him in a prayer for peace.

Reports in Israel indicate that the offices of the Israeli and Palestinian presidents say that the two leaders have agreed to be together in the Vatican.

An Israeli official noted that a few days ago a Vatican envoy presented the papal proposal to the two presidents, and that both Peres and Abbas agreed to go together to the Vatican next month.
