Vatican City (AsiaNews) - In the aftermath of the meeting on "Protection of minors in the Church", concluded yesterday with a Mass and a speech by Pope Francis, the organizing committee met with the leaders of the Roman Curia to give substance to the ideas and proposals that have emerged in recent days.
Yesterday afternoon, Fr. Federico Lombardi, moderator of the meeting, issued a "Declaration" in which he communicates some decisions.
First of all, there will be "a new Motu Proprio" on the protection of minors and vulnerable persons ", to strengthen the prevention and the fight against the abuses in the Roman Curia and in the Vatican City State. It will accompany a new law of the Vatican City State and the Guidelines for the Vatican City Vicariate on the same subject ".
There will also be "the publication by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith of a vademecum that will help the bishops of the world to understand clearly their duties and their tasks".
Finally, "in the spirit of the communion of the universal Church, the Pope has expressed his intention to favor the creation of task forces of competent people to help episcopal conferences and dioceses who find themselves in difficulty to face problems and implement initiatives for the protection of minors ".
