In the case of China, participants will come from Guangdong, Hebei, and Beijing. The goal is to educate them to be bearers of mercy and peace in society.

Hong Kong (AsiaNews) – About 300 young people from all over Asia began a meeting proposed by the monastic community of Taizé on "the courage of mercy".

The meeting, which opened yesterday, will end on Sunday, on Cheung Chau Island, at the headquarters of the Caritas’ Ming Fai Camp

Young participants have come from Hong Kong, Macao, China, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan. In the case of China, they came from various regions like Guangdong, Hebei, Beijing, etc.

According to organisers, the meeting aims to deepen communion with God through personal and communal prayer, chanting, silence, and discovering the meaning of life through reflection and sharing with others.

To awaken "the courage of mercy", the proposal is to focus on five points:

1. Entrusting oneself to God who is mercy

2. Forgiving continuously

3. Getting close to a situation of difficulty, either alone or with someone else

4. Spreading mercy even at a social level

5. Mercy for all creation

Through these paths, the goal is to educate young people to become bearers of peace and trust in their everyday lives.
