The victim is Alan Henning, a British driver, who was kidnapped in December 2013 while carrying humanitarian aid to the Syrian people. The fundamentalists post the video of the murder, and announce that the American Peter Kassig will be "next".

London (AsiaNews / Agencies) - State Islamic terrorists have beheaded British hostage Alan Henning, who was abducted in Syria in December 2013 while carrying humanitarian aid to the population. The fundamentalists have released a video of the murder, which the British government is trying to verify. In the video, they announce that the American volunteer Peter Kassig will be "next". The decapitation took place in the north of Syria.

Henning, a taxi driver from Salford, was 47 years old, with a wife and two children. The kidnapping took place in the course of his fourth humanitarian mission to the country wracked by war and terrorism. His beheading is the fourth posted in a video online by Islamic terrorists: before him two American journalists suffered the same fate - James Foley and Steven Sotloff - and another British volunteer, David Haines. At the end of the Haines video, members of the Islamic State threatened to behead Henning; at the end of this last movie, they threaten Kassig.

In a statement, Peter Kassig's  announcethat their loved one "converted to Islam and is now called Abdul Rahman Kassig." In addition, they call for "all the world" to "pray for his release and for the release of all those innocent people detained by force in the Middle East and the world".
