New York (AsiaNews / Agencies) - After her passionate speech at the 2019 UN Summit on Climate Action, Greta Thunberg filed a complaint against five countries, guilty of not fighting global warming. But neither China or India, among the most polluted countries on earth and among the most responsible for climate change, among these countries there.
After denouncing the politicians for using "empty words" to discuss only "money and fairy tales linked to eternal economic growth", the ecological activist, along with 15 other children and young people aged 8 to 17, through UNICEF, filed a complaint accusing Germany, France, Brazil, Argentina and Turkey of not taking action against global warming, undermining children's rights.
Several commentators wonder why Greta and her companions did not mention China and India. The first, despite having supported the Paris climate agreement (2015), in 2018 increased the construction of coal-fired power plants, with projects extending until 2030.
